Lindsey couldn't wait to participate in Instrumental
Enrichment. She convinced her mother to allow her to attend
her after school classes at the age of 5 and by the age
of 8, she had completed every exercise at least twice.
Throughout high school and summer breaks from college,
Lindsey assisted Dr. Markus in her children’s programs
and was trained as a mediator in Designs for Strong Minds™.
Lindsey
graduated with honors in 3 years from Brandeis University
in 1997 with a B. A. in Economics and minors in Spanish and
Managerial Business. In addition, Lindsey was accepted to
the Lemberg Graduate School at Brandeis University’s accelerated
5 year B. A./M. A. program. Lindsey was the first student
allowed to finish the program in just 4 years. She received
her M. a. in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis
University in 1998. As part of the program, Lindsey had
the opportunity to study abroad in Milan, Italy and speaks
Spanish and conversational Italian.
Upon receiving her Masters Degree, Lindsey worked in the
areas of finance and business development where she structured
financing deals and created joint ventures with domestic
media conglomerates as well as international land line and
wireless providers. Lindsey leverages her international studies
and work experience with her work on the "Welcome to
the United States" program - a comprehensive program
of services for Chinese corporations and high net worth persons
interested in the United States.
Lindsey joined
Dr. Markus full-time in the summer of 2001. Lindsey works
with Dr. Markus in Highland Park and has also established
a Chicago-based office where she sees clients privately.
Given her business and finance experience, Lindsey has been
instrumental in facilitating the growth of the organization.
Over the past two years, she has worked with Dr. Markus on
a myriad of projects. These projects have included working
with NASA to convert her DSM framework to virtual reality,
patenting an interactive computer game, developing exercises
related to the aging brain, successfully remediating post-traumatic
brain injured patients, creating interactive DSM exercises
with the University of Pennsylvania’s engineering department
for global distance learning programs and co-authoring a
book, Retrain Your Brain.
